Prep for Machu Picchu

Our travel from the camp to Cosco took longer than planned after we avoided one of the ongoing transport strikes here in Peru. Although a little later than planned, the trek briefing explained in detail what would be happening during the next five days, it’s all very exciting.

After a trip to town for lunch we were taken on a guided tour around Cosco before getting a brief chance to do a bit of shopping, snacks for the trek, and presents to take home.

Next it was time ot sort our day bags (the ones we’ll carry for the next five days) and a bag that the sherpas will carry up for us. Everything else had to be packed back in our big bags ready to be transported to our next camp which we won’t see for five days.

We then headed back out into Cosco for dinner which was really yummy before returning to the hostel for the staff to check our bags.

An early night to follow and hopefully some sleep as we have a 3am start in the morning!

We’re not expecting to have any signal while on the trek, so no updates for a few days but hopefully we’ll collect some good photos ready for when we do manage to get a signal.

Wish us luck.
